Breastfeeding Lactation Action Committee
The Breastfeeding Committee meets quarterly to review data, exchange information, work collaboratively on projects that will result in increased breastfeeding initiation rates, decreased hospital supplementation rates and increased breastfeeding duration rates in the Hudson Valley region. Access to Care Action Committee
The Access to Care Committee analyzes the use of perinatal services, initially focusing on entry into prenatal care and WIC. It develops social marketing programs to bring women into early prenatal care and consonant educational messages so all women receive the same information; works with health, human services, educational and community groups to overcome the barriers that keep women from entering care. The committee meets quarterly; local perinatal consortia may meet more frequently. Chair: Cheryl Hunter-Grant, MSW, Lower Hudson Valley Perinatal Network hunter-grantc@lhvpn.net
Data Management Committee
The Data Committee is responsible for analyzing and synthesizing perinatal data available from SPARCS, SPDS, Vital Statistics, and other sources. The committee focuses on both perinatal medical outcomes and perinatal public health, especially lactation and access to health care. The committee presents data in useful forms (graphs/tables) at the perinatal forums. The committee meets quarterly to discuss issues related to data management.
